Family Business Site Visit at Daly Farms and Hellfire Bluff Distillery

Family Business Site Visits are included in your Conference Delegate registration

Get a close look at Daly Farms and Hellfire Bluff Distillery, where a leading potato operation and a paddock-to-bottle distillery work side-by-side. Meet the family, hear their story and see the process in action, turning homegrown produce into award-winning spirits.

Along the stunning southeast coast of Tasmania, overlooking picturesque Marion Bay and the rocky outcrop of Hellfire Bluff, you’ll find Daly Farm and the home of Hellfire Bluff Distillery.

The Daly family planted their first potato crop here by hand over 30 years ago and have since grown into one of Australia’s leading potato producers, proudly winning The Australian Farmer of the Year Award in 2019. The distillery was born from the family’s passion to produce unique spirits and to value-add the potatoes grown on their farm.

Situated right next to the Dunalley potato processing facility, Hellfire Bluff is a rare ‘paddock-to-bottle’ distillery. The fresh produce travels less distance than almost anywhere else. Bins of freshly picked potatoes are washed, inspected and graded. The best-looking potatoes are bagged for supermarkets across the state the very next day, while second-grade spuds are processed further: washed, peeled, minced, and transformed into premium vodka.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at both the potato processing facility and distillery, and hear directly from family members about their unique challenges and successes and the creative strategies that inspire the next generation to carry the family legacy forward.
