Join Howard Hansen for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Hansen Orchards, renowned for producing premium cherries and apples. You will gain insight into the orchard’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in fruit growing.
A key highlight of the visit is the orchard’s advanced sorting technology. This state-of-the-art system uses infrared cameras to detect defects, ensuring that only the finest cherries and apples reach the market. The technology can process around 10 tonnes of fruit per hour, allowing Hansen Orchards to handle up to 80–90 tonnes daily.
On this Site Visit, you will see how this cutting-edge approach transforms traditional farming and gain a unique insight into how Hansen Orchards blends innovation with proud family traditions.

Family Business Site Visits are included in your delegate rate. You will be able to attend one of the eight Site Visits on offer. If you are planning to attend, make sure to share your preference during registration and we will do our best to accommodate your selection, but it cannot be guaranteed.

Transport
Bus transportation has been arranged to Hansen Orchards with pick up from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart. We estimate a duration of 3.5 hours for this site visit. Exact times for pick-up and return will be confirmed closer to the date. In the meantime, please plan to be available from 12:00pm.
