FAMILY BUSINESS CONFERENCE | 19 - 22 May 2026

PARALLEL SESSION
Speaker | Matt Fullbrook, Founder and Author, Ground-Up Governance
Date and Time | Friday 22 May, 11:20am - 12:05pm
Governance is a term we hear often in family business, yet there’s no single, universally agreed definition. It can sometimes feel complex, rigid, or even out of reach, but it doesn’t have to be.
In this session, we’ll challenge some of the common myths around "good governance" and explore a more practical, decision-focused approach. Rather than focusing on structure alone, this perspective highlights how families, boards and executives can strengthen governance in ways that are both effective and adaptable without unnecessary complexity, cost, or loss of control.
You’ll leave with clear, evidence-based insights and practical tools to enhance decision-making and improve the effectiveness of your boards, family councils and ownership groups.
