Join Fiona and Jon for a 90-minute City Loop tour, take in Hobart’s stunning views and historic streetscapes, and hear how heritage, sustainability and innovation shape the business and create memorable experiences for every visitor.
Red Decker Company is a private, family-owned business operating Tasmania’s iconic bright red double-decker buses since 1997. What began with a single 1960s Leyland Atlantean and one driver has grown into a fleet of six modern double-decker buses, including zero-emission models, offering accessible and environmentally conscious tours for all visitors.
Before the tour, owners Fiona and Jon will share their insights on the rewards and challenges of running a family business and their dedication to delivering exceptional visitor experiences both locally and internationally.
Enjoy a 90-minute City Loop tour, taking in stunning views of the River Derwent, Tasman Bridge, and kunanyi/Mt Wellington, along with Hobart’s charming colonial architecture and historic streetscapes. Along the way, discover how heritage, innovation and sustainability come together to create truly unforgettable experiences.

Family Business Site Visits are included in your delegate rate. You will be able to attend one of the eight Site Visits on offer. If you are planning to attend, make sure to share your preference during registration and we will do our best to accommodate your selection, but it cannot be guaranteed.

Transport
Our meeting point will be at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart with a short walk to the Travel Centre for departure with the Red Decker. We estimate a duration of 2.5 hours for this site visit. Exact times for pick-up and return will be confirmed closer to the date. In the meantime, please plan to be available from 12:00pm.
